FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

Common questions from conference organizers considering Publion infrastructure.

Does every conference need to use all steps?+

No. Each organizer can use only the parts that match their event. A free seminar may only need a public page, submission workflow, review, schedule, and certificates. A paid international conference may also use payment tracking, LoA, and proceedings.

Does Publion make editorial or acceptance decisions?+

No. Academic decisions remain entirely with the conference chair, scientific committee, and reviewers. Publion provides the workflow that helps those decisions be organized, documented, and tracked.

Can we use our own domain?+

Professional Conference includes a dedicated Publion subdomain. Custom domain arrangements can be discussed for Professional and Managed plans based on the institution's needs.

Is Community Conference really free?+

Yes. Community Conference is free for small, non-commercial events that do not collect registration fees. It supports up to 200 submissions per event.

Can we run recurring annual conferences?+

Yes. Each edition gets its own public page, submission cycle, schedule, and archive while remaining connected to the same organizer account.

Can we publish selected papers after the conference?+

Yes. Professional and Managed Conference organizers can compile accepted full papers into proceedings with public article pages, metadata, and DOI coordination.

How does revenue sharing work?+

When a conference begins receiving payments through Publion, revenue is shared between the organizer and Publion based on the agreed hosting arrangement. The organizer remains entitled to their share, while Publion's share supports hosting, payment tracking, technical maintenance, and ongoing support.

Can organizers receive payouts?+

Yes. An organizer can receive payouts for eligible revenue that has been successfully received, confirmed, and recorded through the Publion payment system. Payouts may require verified institutional or account-holder information and a valid bank account.

Can we set our own registration fees?+

Yes. Your committee controls the fee policy, including whether fees apply, how much they are, when payment is required, whether waivers are available, and whether payment is required before or after acceptance.

Does Publion guarantee indexing or participant numbers?+

No. Publion provides the infrastructure and operational foundation. Indexing outcomes, citation performance, and participant numbers depend on the conference itself.

Can one institution run multiple conferences?+

Yes. Universities, faculties, research organizations, and professional associations can run multiple conferences through Publion. Each conference has its own identity, committee, submission cycle, schedule, and proceedings.

Is Publion suitable for a first-time conference?+

Yes. Community and Professional plans are suitable for first-time organizers. The committee can focus on the academic program while Publion handles the submission, review, payment, and certificate infrastructure.

Ready to run a more organized conference?

Publion provides the infrastructure so your committee can focus entirely on the academic program.
